As part of the Gdańsk City Transport Project and the project of reconstruction of the tram infrastructure at ul. Budzysza in Gdańsk, we have built a total of thirty stormwater drainage connections with a total length of 256 meters. The required decrease, depending on the section, ranged from 0.5% to 6%.
The start of the construction of the installation was preceded by the disassembly and positioning of construction machinery. In the case of this construction, the drilling rig was installed in a steel starting well, constituting an adapter for making installations from a trench or any place other than a sewage well. The structure of a typical Gravity Drilling Rig is intended and designed for installation in a typical DN 1000, DN 1200 or DN 1500 sewer well. However, the necessity to make an installation between any starting chambers is not a problem.
The construction of gravity installations using our technology consists of two key stages. The first is to drill a pilot drilling from a well or a launch chamber to its final destination.
By adding more poles, we continued the pilot drilling.
After the final location of the installation under construction was obtained by means of a pilot drilling, in this case the embankment walls, the second stage was started, which is the construction and pulling of the pipe. For this purpose, the drilling head was disassembled and a reaming head was installed in its place. The diameter of the reaming head depends on the diameter of the pipes to be installed. In this case, it was an installation made of Ø225x13.8 mm PP pipes. Then the head was equipped with the first segment of Modular Pipes. A very practical solution is to build an installation from pipe segments permanently and tightly connected with each other. Their use makes us independent of the size of the site on the construction site. The 700 mm long segments used by us allow for the construction of installations in virtually all spatial conditions prevailing on the site.
The construction of the installation began by attaching successive segments of Modular Pipes, along with its simultaneous pulling into the starting chamber with the drilling rig inside.
The second stage was completed with the drilling of the reaming head with the attached pipe into the starting chamber.
