Chełm Górny – new sanitary sewer network with trenchless drilling

In 90% of cases, yes – even under challenging water conditions we have solutions that allow the project to be brought to completion. That’s precisely why clients turn to us when other companies have to withdraw.

Chełm Górny – new sanitary sewer network with trenchless drilling

Chełm Górny is a small village located in the Trzcińsko-Zdrój municipality, in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship. Although it is not a large urban center, every infrastructure undertaking here matters to residents and to the development of the whole region. The lands of Pomerania hold much history – from medieval influences to administrative changes in the 20th century.

One of the more interesting name-related puzzles is the name "Chełm" – often in Slavic languages associated with "hill" (Old Polish "cholm"), which reflects the local landscape and location.

Today in Chełm Górny we have the pleasure of carrying out an important stage of expanding the sanitary sewer network – a project that will serve many families and businesses for decades.

Chełm Górny is a small village — counting only a few hundred inhabitants. Until now the water and sewage infrastructure here has been limited and required substantial modernization to meet the growing needs of residents and to raise the standard of living in this part of the municipality.

Although the ground conditions proved to be exceptionally demanding – full of stones and large cobbles – our team handled it excellently. Precise gravity drilling technology allowed the task to be completed quickly, safely and without the need to excavate roads or disrupt the daily rhythm of residents' lives.

Scope of implementation: approximately 200 m of bore, 225 mm PP pipe, 1200 mm manhole

Our crew is currently working on an implementation that includes approximately 200 metres of trenchless bore using a trenchless method. For the network construction we are using 225 mm PP pipe modules… These solid specifications  guarantee durability and an adequate cross-section for the entire sanitary network. Thanks to this investment the residents of Chełm Górny will gain modern and reliable infrastructure, and the village will be prepared for further stages of development.
Although the ground conditions proved to be exceptionally demanding – full of stones and large cobbles – our team handled it excellently. Precise gravity drilling technology allowed the task to be completed quickly, safely and without the need to excavate roads or disrupt the daily rhythm of residents' lives.

Key advantages of this method:

  • We carry out the work without excavations and without interfering with the surface – we do not damage roads, sidewalks, or lawns.
  • The lack of need to dig up the area minimizes inconvenience for residents and local traffic.
  • The bore enables precise placement of pipes under obstacles (e.g. roads, fences, root systems and  other infrastructure), which would require much greater effort with traditional techniques.

Context and significance for residents

Imagine a scenario where we would have to use traditional excavation methods – road closures, detours, waiting times, huge mess and costs. In Chełm Górny, where roads are local and often lack alternative routes, such disruptions would be a serious problem for residents.

Thanks to the gravity drill  and trenchless work, we maintain full functionality of the area: access to plots, pedestrian passage, local life — everything operating normally.

This is not only a technical but also a social investment – sanitary sewerage is not a luxury but a basic standard of living.

Why choose us – the advantages of trenchless technology

  1. Operating time – bores can be performed much faster than traditional excavations.
  2. Minimal disruptions – no need to close roads, destroy surfaces or organize detours.
  3. Precision and safety – coordination with other underground infrastructure is possible, with minimal risk of collisions.
  4. Long-term costs – although the trenchless method may have a higher unit cost, it avoids road repairs, restorations, compensations and social costs.
  5. Environment – less spoil, less transport, reduced impact on stormwater retention and ground disturbance.

In the Chełm Górny implementation we place particular emphasis on cooperation with the local community, supervision and keeping the site clean after completion of works.

We are currently in the midst of the bores — work is progressing according to plan.
