Yes – this solution was created with ecology in mind. The absence of excavations means less disturbance to the soil structure, protection of trees and vegetation, and reduced noise and emissions. In addition, the modular PP pipes used are durable and chemically resistant, ensuring the system's watertightness for years.

Construction of a new stormwater drainage connection in Poznań's Grunwald district
In Poznań's Grunwald district, in the area of Taborowa Street, the final stage of construction of a new stormwater drainage connection carried out by Mido is underway. This is another example of the practical use of trenchless technology in an urban setting, combining precision of execution, speed of implementation and care for the environment.
Scope and technical parameters
The project includes the construction of a stormwater drainage connection, linking a new section of the network to the existing sewer infrastructure. Modular polypropylene (PP) pipes with a diameter of 180 mm were used for the installation, joined using specialized NBR seals that ensure full tightness and resistance to groundwater infiltration.
Work is being carried out from within an existing DN1200 manhole, using the Mido gravity drilling rig. The machine was lowered into the manhole through a DN600 opening and secured on dedicated mounting rings, which avoided the need to construct a separate start pit. All installation elements are laid with a hydraulic gradient and a precision of up to 0.2%, monitored in real time by the machine's measurement system.
No excavations, no disruptions, no conflicts
Taborowa Street is an important transport point for manufacturing and logistics companies in this part of Poznań. Any interference with the road surface would risk causing disruptions. Thanks to Mido technology, the entire process proceeded without the need for excavations.
The bore was carried out beneath the road strip, which allowed the full functionality of the area to be maintained.
Precision and efficiency in practice
The drill's design allows for rapid assembly and disassembly at the work site. Modular pipes were progressively inserted behind the drill head, creating a sealed and durable section of the connection.
Thanks to accurate guidance and appropriate sealing systems, it was possible to maintain full tightness and protection against groundwater infiltration. This guarantees not only the durability of the installation but also environmental protection and ground stability at the project site.
Ecology and cost savings combined
The use of trenchless technology reduces the amount of excavated material, noise and exhaust emissions. Eliminating the need to restore the surface or remove excess soil results in real financial and logistical savings. Moreover, Mido technology enables work even in challenging ground conditions – clays, gravels or cohesive soils – without the need to interfere with surrounding utilities or urban greenery.
Mido – technology of the future in urban infrastructure
The project on Taborowa Street is another example that modern trenchless solutions can be effectively used not only in large linear projects but also for smaller connections of strategic importance.
Precision, speed and the absence of inconvenience to the surroundings make this method a standard in urban sewer investments. The Mido team once again demonstrates that, thanks to innovative technology, infrastructure can be created that combines technical efficiency with full respect for the environment and residents' comfort.
