Wipsowo – small village, great precision. MIDO builds a modern trenchless sewer system.
There are many attractive locations in the Warmia and Masuria region, and Wipsowo is distinctive. Located a few kilometres from Olsztyn among hills and forests, it combines the calm of a rural area with progressively modern infrastructure. Beneath the surface, an upgrade of the sewer network is underway to provide residents with long-term safety and comfort.

When others must dig, we work precisely.
In Wipsowo, Mido completed a trenchless sanitary bore of 31 metres, installing a PP pipe Ø225.
The sanitary connection was installed between existing manholes—without surface intervention, without noise and without open excavations.

All works were completed in a single day, maintaining precise level and slope, which is critical in gravity systems.
Using a gravity drilling unit removed the need for launch pits or extensive earthworks, which is a key advantage of this method.
An existing manhole was sufficient—the rest was achieved by precise gravity drilling and the crew's experience.
Until a few years ago, sewer construction meant weeks of excavations, mud and road closures. Today, modern trenchless methods allow small communities to benefit from solutions comparable to those used in larger cities.

Wipsowo, though small, shows that infrastructure investments can be carried out with respect for space, nature and residents.
It demonstrates that Mido's technology is applicable in a range of settings—from urban arteries to local municipal roads.

Difficult ground conditions are common

Ground conditions in Warmia can be unpredictable—ranging from clayey substrates to cobbles and stones that can challenge even experienced contractors.
However, this is not new to us.
The technology performs effectively even in difficult, wet and heterogeneous soils, allowing bores to be executed with an accuracy that other methods rarely achieve.

Precision, environmental protection and minimal disruption

Mido's method delivers precision while minimising environmental impact and disturbance to residents.
The absence of open excavations prevents damage to greenery, eliminates noise and reduces inconvenience for inhabitants.
It is a working method that combines efficiency with care for the environment—aligned with contemporary civil engineering standards.

Project parameters:

  • Location: Wipsowo, Barczewo municipality, Olsztyn county
  • Scope: sanitary sewer connection, trenchless bore
  • Length: 31 m
  • Pipe diameter: PP Ø225
  • Manholes: Ø1000 / Ø1200
  • Technology: Mido gravity drilling unit
  • Execution time: 1 day
  • Result: no surface intervention, full tightness and precise alignment

MIDO – the future of trenchless infrastructure

Wipsowo shows that it is not necessary to dig up a road to build for the future.
The applied gravity technique allowed the project to be completed quickly, cleanly and with full respect for the site, which in this case was essential. An open trench would have caused significant inconvenience for residents by restricting access to properties and roads…
